Y-START: a technological challenge turned into reality!
With its focus on the development and manufacture of “intelligent” refrigerated containers for the air transport of pharmaceutical products, Swiss Airtainer is at the crossroads of two demanding sectors: aeronautics and medicine.
When he launched our adventure, our founder Eduard Seligman drew on this initial connection to set up our premises at the Payerne Aeropole. As one of the team’s technicians, I was in charge of developing the project’s technology and forging industrial partnerships. Being from Yverdon myself, it was only natural for me to take up a position at the “Tech Ranch” at the Y-PARC. But once the structuring phase was completed, our company refocused on Payerne.
Very soon, however, the need to produce prototypes, carry out tests, etc. meant that we found ourselves cramped for space at the Aéropôle. So we decided to move – the whole team this time! – to Yverdon-les Bains, and more specifically, to the Y-START incubator.
To say that we were received magnificently by the technopole’s coordination team would be an understatement. In fact, I’d say that the majority of our needs were met… at the very moment we formulated them, a bit like in those famous construction video games!
