SYLVAC SA
The immediate feeling of being completely taken care of
SYLVAC SA, an international benchmark in the manufacture of ultra-precision measuring tools, was historically the result of the merger of two entities: one in Malleray-Bévilard, for micromechanics, and the other in Renens and Crissier, for electronics and marketing.
Around 2017, the Crissier site in turn became too small, notably following the acquisition of a new line of optical products for non-contact measurement. We then set out to find a new location that would remain close to the Lausanne region.
Competing with two or three other identified scenarios, the Y-PARC site quickly came to the fore. What appealed to us from the outset here was the ecosystem dimension, with its vast choice of legalized and equipped sites, the many possible partnerships, the proximity of the HEIG-VD…
But these assets were further strengthened during our more advanced contacts with the host organization, when we gained the feeling that our arrival would give rise to real support in our set-up operation.
And that’s exactly what happened! Thanks to years of hard work by Y-PARC staff, especially with the public authorities, all processes were greatly facilitated and accelerated. In the end, no more than 18 months elapsed between the signing of the deed of sale in April and the completion of the project.
